Meet the professionals who have volunteered to lead our Chapter.
Founder/Principle, Brown + Associates, LLC
Kathleen Brown is the principal at Brown + Associates, a virtual communications, PR, and events group based in Tucson, Arizona. A Colorado native, Brown has 25 years of experience driving communications initiatives in SaaS, environmental health and safety, veterinary medicine, nonprofits, and law enforcement/public safety. For the last 19 years she’s worked as a subject matter expert on criminal justice reform, drunk driving, and the intersection of alcohol misuse and crime. A member of PRSA since 2010, she has served on the board of directors for the Southern Arizona chapter of PRSA in various capacities, including Secretary, IMPACT Awards Chair and, most recently, as the liaison to PRSA Western District. She is also co-chair for the PRSA Western District Conference 2023, which will be hosted in Tucson. Kathleen holds a BS in Communications, with minors in Journalism and Music Education, from the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats!) and is a 2017 graduate of Greater Tucson Leadership (GTL). She currently serves on the executive board of GTL as Secretary and is a member of the advisory board for Integrative Touch for Kids.
Katherine Monberg, MBA
Senior Strategist, Godat Design
Katherine is a Senior Strategist at Godat Design, where she specializes in brand and marketing strategy, data analytics and visualization, project management and business process improvement. She is responsible for developing marketing strategy and messaging, managing integrated marketing campaigns and content marketing across digital and social platforms, optimizing CRM and metrics strategies and building pitch and presentation materials for numerous clients. Katherine was also a founding member and strategist for Smart Blox, a joint U.S.-Australian solar tech startup and winner of the 2017 Global Business Challenge in Brisbane, Australia, as well as a finalist for the 2018 MIT Clean Energy Prize and 2018 Rice Business Plan Competition.
Katherine has been a member of PRSA Southern Arizona since 2019, when she served as IMPACT Awards Chair. She holds an MBA with concentrations in Marketing and Business Intelligence from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, and a BA in English and Theatre Arts from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN.
Communications Manager, Casa de la Luz
Meredith develops strong connections and relationships to passionately support and advance community causes. An advocate for health and well-being, she currently leads communication efforts for Casa de la Luz, the leading provider of end-of-life care, and spent more than 10 years as a key member of the Canyon Ranch public relations department, where she represented the global wellness brand to domestic and international audiences.
Examples of Meredith’s varied community involvements include “Going Over the Edge” for Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, co-chairing the Hospice Veteran Partnership of Southern Arizona and annually participating in SACASA’s “Dine Out for Safety.” Additionally, she has served on the PRSA Southern Arizona Chapter board for four years. A native Tucsonan and University of Arizona alum, Meredith is a graduate of the Greater Tucson Leadership program (2018) and was named one of Tucson’s 40 Under 40 (2019) by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Larry Wiget, APR
Larry, a member of PRSA since 1996, has served at the local chapter level of PRSA Alaska and as a regional vice-president for NSPRA. He has previously worked as a university professor in Missoula, Montana, and as an executive director of public affairs and government relations in Anchorage, Alaska. Larry has also served on a number of boards, both public and private. His interests include public speaking and technology. His passion is to observe, reflect and inspire.
Director of Communications, Tech Parks Arizona
Jessa B. Turner develops and executes communication strategies that promote and publicize Tech Parks Arizona and its units: UA Tech Park, UA Tech Park at The Bridges, and the UA Center for Innovation. She is responsible for the development of marketing materials, messaging, and branding. Jessa serves as the media liaison, as well as the University of Arizona marketing liaison, for Tech Parks Arizona. Jessa is also an award-winning PR practitioner and has worked for Tech Parks Arizona since 2003. She currently serves on the board of directors for Greater Tucson Leadership, and she is also a member of the Association of University Research Parks (AURP), serving in AURP’s special interest group for communications. She is a long-standing member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Board of Directors and has served in many capacities, including the role of President and Impact Awards Chair.
Jessa earned a BA in economics from the University of Arizona and is a graduate of the Greater Tucson Leadership Program.
Jan Howard, APR
Partner, NuPoint Marketing & Market Research
Jan has nearly 30 years’ experience in public relations, integrated marketing, media (from the Tulsa Daily World to Reuters), legislative advocacy, fundraising, risk management communications, employee communications, and consumer relations. Nationally accredited in PR, Jan began her career in Washington, D.C. as a lobbyist for an international oil firm before becoming a journalist and editor covering the Oil & Gas industry. She moved to Tucson in 1989 to lead the marketing launch of what is now known as the Sarver Heart Center for the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. She went on to work for Carondelet Health Network, now Southern Arizona’s largest health care provider, leading their marketing and public relations efforts. Jan joined Strongpoint Marketing, now NuPoint, in 2006, and works with strategic planning to a variety of industry sectors throughout Southern Arizona.

Kristine Welter Hall
Senior Vice President, Marketing, Fundraising and Planning, CODAC Health, Recovery & Wellness, Inc.
Kristine is Senior Vice President for Marketing, Fundraising and Planning at CODAC Health, Recovery & Wellness, Inc. Kristine leads internal and external communications, community relations, marketing and advertising, fundraising, strategic planning and business development initiatives. She is also the administrative lead of CODAC’s division that serves sexual assault survivors: the Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (SACASA). Kristine was recognized as one of Tucson’s 40 Under 40 in 2011 and was a member of the 2011-2012 class of Greater Tucson Leadership, during which she co-led the creation of Tucson’s now iconic (though recently moved) I Am Tucson mural. Kristine has also served on the Board of the GLBT Chamber of Commerce (now called LGBT Chamber of Commerce) and has been an active participant in many community event planning committees such as the Tucson Recovery Expo and Community Mental Health Arts Show, among others.
