**NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2021 IMPACT AWARDS ARE NOW CLOSED**
Each Special Award recognizes an individual for outstanding contributions to the field of PR, marketing, or communications in Southern Arizona. Nominations for Special Awards are completely free, and nominees/nominators are not required to be current members of PRSA or the PRSA Southern Arizona Chapter.
Nominations should include a nomination letter (maximum 2 typed pages), the nominee’s resume or bio, and a recent headshot. Supporting materials (letters of recommendation and/or media stories) are welcome but not required.
All nominees will be recognized at the annual IMPACT Awards celebration and receive a complimentary ticket to the event.
Rookie of the Year *NEW 2021*
Recognizes an outstanding new PR, marketing, or communications practitioner OR current student in the Southern Arizona community. The nominee must have three years or less of professional industry experience to be considered, and must have demonstrated clear excellence in the four key elements of public relations: research, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Community support and involvement as well as clear demonstrations of learning, growth, and professional or pre-professional development will also be considered.
PR Professional of the Year
Honors the achievement of a public relations professional that has made an impact in the PR world through their outstanding leadership, innovation, creativity, professionalism, and dedication to the industry. Please describe what this individual has accomplished during the past calendar year, their contributions to PRSA, and their unique qualifications to represent our Chapter as PR Professional of the Year. This person must be a current member of PRSA.
Media Person of the Year
Presented to a journalist, editor, producer, broadcaster, cameraperson, sound engineer, or other media professional of an Arizona-based media outlet who has demonstrated a dedication to their craft by reporting with integrity, sharing impactful stories and always keeping the public interest in mind. Additionally, this person must have proven experience working respectfully with local public relations professionals, but does not have to be a current member of PRSA.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Recognizes a PRSA Southern Arizona Chapter member for distinguished service and remarkable contributions to the profession of public relations, the Southern Arizona community, and PRSA. This award is not presented annually, but only at the discretion of the PRSA Southern Arizona Chapter Board of Directors to honor an individual practitioner’s unique and exemplary professional experience, community leadership, mentorship, volunteer work, and/or outstanding educational achievement in public relations. The recipient must have been a member and significant contributor to PRSA. Nominations for the Lifetime Achievement Award must be submitted or sponsored by a current PRSA Southern Arizona Chapter member.
