Patrick McNamara is the communications manager with Pima Association of Governments (PAG), the Tucson metro region’s federally recognized metropolitan planning organization. In this role, Patrick works with a team to develop campaigns and create materials that highlight and explain the work of PAG and the Regional Transportation Authority, which PAG manages. This includes development of content for newsletters, news releases, email campaigns, social media, video content, as well as editing staff-produced reports.

Prior to working at PAG, Patrick was a communications specialist with Pima County, where he worked primarily with public works and elections departments. Some of the projects he co-lead included an informational campaign on the county’s transition from precinct-level voting to regional vote centers, the Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department’s annual grease collection events, and numerous social media campaigns to promote the work of the Pima County Department of Transportation.  

Patrick also worked for more than a decade in print journalism, where he covered local government and the business community for publications like the Arizona Daily Star, Tucson Citizen, The Explorer, and Inside Tucson Business.
