Awards, election, APR stipends and more

Whether or not you enter our chapter's annual PRSA Impact Awards, we encourage you to join us on Oct. 22, 2024 for our big event celebrating the great work of our peers, and to make important in-person connections. We promise a lovely evening experience!

In October, we will also conduct our annual election of the PRSA Southern Arizona Board. A ballot will be sent to all members to vote before the end of October so that the new board can begin planning more great programs and offerings next year, such as our annual media program in January. If you are interested in serving on the 2025 board, we have opportunities for co-chairs and committees for those interested in pursuing leadership opportunities or serving as part of a dynamic board to advance your professional development.

And speaking of the election, this is all the more reason for you to join the Southern Arizona Chapter so you can take part in the action as well as take advantage of program savings and access a wealth of other great professional development resources from the PRSA organization. We’ve grown to nearly 80 members. Let’s keep our membership moving forward!

In recent board action, I’m happy to report that our chapter established policy to offer APR stipends, budget dependent, up to $100 to individuals who pursue accreditation in public relations or who complete the APR online study course, one stipend per member. The stipends are available upon successful completion of the online course or a successful accreditation. We believe in the importance of education.
